The site layout and design of these four seaside units embodies an environmental response to their location:

  • Location
    With the esplanade at the doorstep of the site, a primary design consideration was to provide views from all units in the development, thereby achieving physical and visual contact with the immediate environment, extending beyond the site boundaries.
  • Orientation
    North is angled at 45 degrees to the site. This aspect formed the basis of the design process and resulted in the Northern orientation of units, enhanced views, cross ventilation and privacy.
  • Breezes
    Passive cooling by South Easterly breezes is facilitated with the correct orientation, generous sized sliding doors, open plan layouts and single room depths with double sided windows, providing unobstructed airflow.
