Endibrook Elements

Architectural Design

Endibook utilises orientation, poisitioning and passive cooling in their achitectural designs to take advantage of natural energy.

With good orientation the need for additional heating and cooling can be reduced, resulting in lower energy bills and reducing greenhouse emissions.

Passive cooling is the least expensive means of cooling a home, and importantly, it has the lowest environment impact.

Design for Climate

Endibrook designs for the Mackay climate by maximising the natural site elements to capture breezes & shade. Building materials used ensure reflective barriers, air flow and ventilation.

Roof

All our roofs include insulation, whirly birds and eave vents which creates convective air movement

Ventilation

Ventilation is simply the process of replacing stale, hot air with clean, fresh air. Vents extract super heated roof space air enabling it to be replaced by fresh air through tiles or under eave vents. If left unattended, roof space temperatures can reach a staggering 70 degrees celsius in summer.

Polyester Batts in ceiling

Renovating or building a new home provides the perfect opportunity to make your home as comfortable as possible… plus you can save money and the environment! How? By making your home energy efficient.

Insulation

Insulation acts as a barrier to heat flow and is essential to keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer.  A well insulated and well designed home will provide year-round comfort, cutting cooling and heating bills by up to half.  This in turn, will reduce greenhouse emissions.

Sisalation™ 436

Light Duty Foil Laminate

Insulation Solutions™ Sisalation 436 is manufactured with two outer layers of aluminium foil and one layer of high density kraft paper. These layers are bonded together using flame retardant adhesive and reinforced with glass fibres arranged in a 12.5mm x 14mm grid.

Insulation

Protherm's reflecta-range™

Protherm's reflective building insulations are unique, incorporating the latest technology. Ideal for new construction or retrofit installation. Rated for commercial, industrial & residential buildings. Recognized for their thermal performance, easy installation, versatility and environmental friendliness. Demand is greater than ever for energy efficient insulation to conserve heating & cooling energy.

The Reflecta-Range & Silvershield products are highly effective reflective insulations. Two outer sheets of extra pure aluminium foil reflect up to 97% of radiant heat. The sheets are heat laminated to a tough core of polyethylene pocketed air for strength & reliability. This sandwich resists conductive & convective heat flow. The whole system combats the 3 types of heat effecting buildings. follow link to more information

Eaves/Shading

Endibrook eaves and shading are designed to permanently exclude solar access to rooms

Floors

utilising sustainable materials such as bamboo flooring

Windows

Glazed windows are used where a further barrier to the harsh Mackay sunlight

Pilkington Low-E Reflective Glass

The Advantage Pilkington Eclipse Advantage™ Reflective Low-E glass is manufactured using the patented Pilkington pyrolytic process. The result is a product that combines solar and thermal control with the high visible light transmittance, subtle reflectivity, glare control, and the crisp consistent colour that only a pyrolytic coating can provide.

Energy Use

Endibrook utilises energy efficient white goods that conserve our precious water & energy sources

Our lighting is minimised by maximising natural light in our wherever possible. This also creates a reduction in electric lighting and cooling energy. The sun is a source of free, plentiful light, and daylight can be harnessed by the use of skylights and smart placement of windows. However the most effective strategy is optimized building orientation and form, and optimized window size and placement

Water Use

Water Waste Reduction is assured by utilising AAA Tapware fixtures and mixers. Duel 'Smartflush' Toilets & twin sinks Water Tanks are installed to help conserve our precious water source

Waste Minimisation

Not only is household recycling an element in our design but Endibrook aslo Tries to achieve construction recycling wherever possible. We have Council Wheelie bins both normal and recycled bins on site.
