Energy use

  • Gas Stove Tops
A gas oven will take around 9-12 minutes to reach 235ºC while an electric oven takes around 25 minutes.
  • Bio-Ovens
  • AAA Dishwashers
  • Compact Fluoro
Fluorescent lamps are the most energy efficient form of lighting for households. Fluorescent lamps, including compact fluorescents (CFLs), use only one quarter to one fifth as much energy, therefore producing only about one quarter of the greenhouse gases, compared to incandescent bulbs to provide the same light level (if powered by coal).
  • Inverter Air Conditioners
A new innovation, the inverter air conditioner is quieter during operation and more energy efficient than a conventional unit.

Our lighting is minimised by maximising natural light in our wherever possible. This also creates a reduction in electric lighting and cooling energy. The sun is a source of free, plentiful light, and daylight can be harnessed by the use of skylights and smart placement of windows. However the most effective strategy is optimized building orientation and form, and optimized window size and placement

Energy efficient compact fluorescent globes are used.
