Insulation

99%+ pure aluminum

Protherm uses the highest grade aluminium with up to 98% reflectivity. Reflective insulations that use less than 99+% aluminium or have no protection may deteriorate with age. All Reflecta-Range products have our unique protective coating to guard against oxidization and foil degradation.

Extra thick foil

Each layer of our aluminium is extra thick. This ensures you don't experience "pin-holing" that can also deteriorate your reflective insulation over time.

Unaffected by humidity

It is one of the few insulations not affected by humidity. R-Value's of bulk insulation diminish more than 35% (R2.5 to R1.65) with only 1.5% moisture in the air. Average moisture content in homes typically exceeds 1.5%.

Independent approved testing

All tests are performed at either nationally approved independent laboratories or at leading universities. Tests are performed to current Australian Materials Standards. Our products conform with the latest insulation standard AS/NZS 4859.1-2002.

Protherm's Advantages & Differences

When compared to similar products

  1. Patented coating to protect against oxidisation. Aluminium foil reacts with oxygen which dulls the foil and reduces its reflectivity and "R" value over time. Protherm's coating prevents this from happening.
  2. Patented coating to protect against corrosion. Reflective foils under a roof are exposed morning and night to condensation. This condensation from metal & tile roofs can corrode the surface of the foil. Foils that are affected can have their original "R" value reduced by 80% or more.
  3. Protherm has a patented anti-slip component in its coating for added safety for installers.
  4. Protherm "R" values are the highest in the industry under a roof. E.g. up to R3.3 under metal roofs & R2.8 under tile roofs.
  5. Protherm's extra width would mean one less overlap for every 10 widths making a saving of around 12% in material costs when overlapping.
  6. Protherm roll widths are at least 10% wider than similar products saving up to 10% in installation labour costs.
  7. Protherm uses 15% recycled product, a further saving in greenhouse gases.

When compared to different styles of insulation
